Thanks to @elenawhitham.bsky.social for raising this issue in the chamber today. With 40 families of colour being denied the temporary accommodation they are legally entitled to every week, we need action to ensure a safe, secure and affordable home is available to everyone. #HousingEmergency

3. Elena Whitham asking how the Scottish Government can use our report as a lightning rod to galvanise action across the sector to improve children's experiences of living in TA - which can often be unsafe, unsuitable, and disruptive to their educational and social lives

How significant are ethnic inequalities in housing affordability?

While Britain is a more plural country now than ever before, significant ethnic inequalities persist, including in housing affordability.

Goodwin spreading misinformation over on the other place again.

Same old debunked rubbish.

Foreign born & British nationals are presented here as two different groups.
Obviously they are not. I am a foreign born British national. So is Boris Johnson.

But it makes a nice dog whistle.

Labour's eagerness to reduce numbers in the immigration system is dictating priorities. It's illogical to pause people's claims. Stability in Syria is going to take time. Process claims, grant temporary status, let them get on and work out whether they want to return to a different Syria later.
2 things can be true:

1. Syrians are overjoyed & rightly celebrating the fall of a half-century-long brutal, psychotic dictatorship, & hoping to see their homes again.

2. It is not safe or responsible for European countries of sanctuary to talk now of repatration or ending asylum for Syrians.
Bit of an about turn from "joyful Syrians celebrating new found freedom." And that's before the new rulers start settling old scores and imposing their brand of Sharia.

On this day in 1872, Scotland and England played the world’s first international football match at West of Scotland Cricket Ground in Partick.

The match finished 0-0 and was watched by 4000 people.

The impact of this football match led to the football we consume today.
