Ok, I actually watched the trailer for the new film and I have concerns.
I just finished my first time reading Wuthering Heights and I'm confused as to why the new adaptation is coming out on Valentine's Day rather than Halloween.

Adaptations have almost invariably touted themselves as a ‘great romance’ whereas Brontë’s book was about obsession, emotional disfunction, violence, repression & abuse. The ‘romance’ they portray poisoned everything in its vicinity. Heathcliff, far from a romantic hero, was a toxic presence.

UPDATE: After seeing this video, I informed ICE of my intent to visit the Baltimore facility today. I was told I would be denied entry.
It’s clear Trump's ICE would rather engage in a cover up. I will not stop pressing until we get answers. We need transparency & accountability.

For years I have used the recipe and meal planner app "Plan to Eat." For some reason they have added a new "feature" called "beginner mode" which runs recipes through generative AI. It's baffling why anyone would risk taking a real recipe, written by a human, and churn it through a tool like this.

Saw a couple posts recently expressing shock that professors might ban the use of AI for brainstorming and considering that gen ai tools don't have brains I wonder how one might do otherwise?
