I love my existence being “complex and contentious.” Per the BBC.

Adding that to my bio.
“It reflected a “cultural problem across the BBC” which treats issues of gender and sexuality as ‘a celebration of British diversity’ rather than a complex and contentious subject.”

Just a second - what exactly is contentious about sexuality and gender identity?

NEW: Republicans demand tougher abortion restrictions to extend Obamacare funds

This demand spans Senate leadership to Finance Cmte to proponents of ACA money.

Dems say hell no, current Hyde protections suffice.

"It's a nonstarter," Shaheen tells me.

Republicans demand tougher abortion restrictions to extend Obamacare funds
Democrats say that’s a nonstarter, arguing there are already limits on abortion access. The dispute could torpedo a deal, leading to higher health insurance premiums for millions.

This is legit what I mean by “senate brain.” They expect us to believe because they actually believe. It seems like anyone who serves more than two term in the Senate get this sort of brain rot where their concept of the “possible” is limited to show votes and strongly worded letters
November 11, 2025 at 5:04 PM
I can’t decide which is more contemptible: Durbin’s naïveté that Thune will keep his word, or his addled senate-brained belief that a show vote, guaranteed to fail, is a tangible “win” of some value.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

There go the Irish confusing the Americans again.
Most Irish moment of the presidential inauguration: 'there's the president's husband, a woodwork teacher for many years, and of course her father was a carpenter's, and she has a brother who's very involved with Galway hookers'.

For all the trans people out there, if you like, please share something good that’s going on in your life, no matter how big or small.

I’m sure we could all use some good news to offset all the bad.

How about we start Trans Joy Tuesday! 🏳️‍⚧️

Women born with vaginas, raised as girls are suddenly not sufficiently womanly enough. They're branded as "men" and humiliated. They are stripped of everything they have worked to achieve and called cheats. It only serves to police womanhood based on the ability to be a breeding vessel.

This is your fault. You allowed this. Want to convince me otherwise? Then issue a statement calling for the removal of Schumer as democratic leader.
We're debating on the government funding package right now and every single Republican voted against a Democratic amendment to pass a clean, one-year extension of the ACA tax credits.

Republicans just don't care about your health care.

Ah. The Quisling caucus. Glad Politico is naming names.

As much as I hate Schumer (and I loathe him) IDK if there’s anything he can do when there are half a dozen Dems undermining him at every opportunity.

Why is Bradford still in? Why are any of our offensive starters still in?
November 10, 2025 at 12:07 AM
I love to see this but a bunch of those escapes were when he hit the top of his drop and just … held the ball. Maybe everyone was covered, the All-22 will tell. I’d feel more confident if he were playing in structure more.
No sacks for the Giants today, a dual effort from the offensive line and Caleb Williams' Houdini acts. The last time the Bears had two games in a season in which they didn't allow a sack? 2016.

Good article and i will again take the opportunity to add that not only did Franklin get screwed out of a Nobel for DNA, but also, had she lived, her work on the molecular structure of viruses would also have merited her a Nobel.
The “canonical” story how Rosalind Franklin got wronged by Watson and Crick inadvertently makes her look far less scientifically competent than she was (“She did not realize the significance of her own data!”). This article offers a much more nuanced account of what happened.
What Rosalind Franklin truly contributed to the discovery of DNA’s structure
Franklin was no victim in how the DNA double helix was solved. An overlooked letter and an unpublished news article, both written in 1953, reveal that she was an equal player.
