This is legit what I mean by “senate brain.” They expect us to believe because they actually believe. It seems like anyone who serves more than two term in the Senate get this sort of brain rot where their concept of the “possible” is limited to show votes and strongly worded letters

I can’t decide which is more contemptible: Durbin’s naïveté that Thune will keep his word, or his addled senate-brained belief that a show vote, guaranteed to fail, is a tangible “win” of some value.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

I love to see this but a bunch of those escapes were when he hit the top of his drop and just … held the ball. Maybe everyone was covered, the All-22 will tell. I’d feel more confident if he were playing in structure more.

Good article and i will again take the opportunity to add that not only did Franklin get screwed out of a Nobel for DNA, but also, had she lived, her work on the molecular structure of viruses would also have merited her a Nobel.
