enough of you have provided me with explanations for why people do it that i understand it's a trend. it's a stupid fucking trend. it looks stupid. it makes audio worse. i can't stop the youth and won't try, but if you're a professional, stop doing the AV equivalent of wearing a shoe on your head.
why have reporters, politicians, influencers, etc. all of a sudden seem to have started holding lapel mics to talk into them? it’s a lapel mic, it’s specifically designed to go on your shirt or lapel, you look ridiculous holding it, stop it.

Recent read. Haven't read these for 20 odd years and god they're good. I'm missing my copy of 'Tehanu' so I ordered a complete Earthsea edition including a lecture Le Guin gave on Earthsea. Never read the continuation past the 4th book so I'm excited.
