The only "But daddy, I love him!" trope I can actually stand is Arwen from Lord of the Rings. Because it's not out of ignorance but the opposite. And in the end she isn't begging she just says "let's go, we're making him a sword" and her father complains and rolls his eyes but he's like "okay, fine"

Its cool because Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas did not need to give a shit about Mary and Pippin. They didn't, nothing made them care about those hobbits other than their ability to do so. They went so far to protect their own

Somehow I keep managing to jump scare myself because I, repeatedly, forget to block the Danny Phantom/Vlad Masters ship when I scroll through AO3
