I’ve seen “Hidden Figures” several times; it never fails to both move me and make me angry over the prejudice in equal measure.

Everything I touch turns to gold and I seem to have developed donkey ears.

I once looked for a book on the same cabinet in Waterstones as Clive James.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

There is a whiff of WWE about this "battle of the sexes" tennis match

I've seen them both quite a few times now and I've said this before and no doubt I will say it again. Four Weddings is by far the superior film to Love Actually. There I've said it again.

You have to hand it to Sally Lindsay it is public service broadcasting. She has managed to get money to produce TV jobs for all her luvvie friends, who get to swan around having a good time some where nice while she explains art history (oh and the definition of a portmanteau word)

spoiler alert #madammeleblanc So now the whole cast is stood around "the bomb" watching it count down the last 10s while our heroine tries one last code number to stop the detonation. You somehow know that she will have got it right.......

Similar pattern in London too. The right wing petrol head newspapers don't like people knowing this. If I were being cynical I would suggest it has something to do with ownership and share interests....
Year 1 data on congestion pricing in Manhattan…

* Vehicle traffic: -11%
* Foot traffic: +3.4%
* Storefront vacancy: -0.9%
* Pollution: -22%
* Revenue for mass transit: $548M

So YES this has been a huge success.

I am watchin the Madamme Le Blanc mysteries Christmas special as my wife likes them. (he adds hastily) it is like watching a live action version of Scooby Doo. They are trapped in a museum and have decided to split up to looks for clues. No scooby snacks as yet though

I loved this from @evawiseman.bsky.social in the @theobserveruk.bsky.social. A moving, thought provoking and insightful article on Lilly Allen. Thank you. Thought this was a telling quote on the society we have created. It at least made me want to listen to the album. observer.co.uk/style/fashio...
