I thought we Americans were the only ones to go to these lengths to avoid using the metric system.

I teach at a k-8 school with more than 400 serious discipline issues each year. There are schools in the district with a 10th of that. These are not bad kids, but they are seeing and dealing with things in their lives that no child should. This is a direct attack on students like mine.

Had a good night of 3D printing. Modeled 2 new simple designs for my daughter and wife and they both turned out great! Already printed a multi-color proof of concept of the one and it went wonderfully.

Finally 3D printing something I designed myself. It's just a simple catch-all tray with an area to hold mail, but I'm happy with it nonetheless.

Sitting here tonight and rocking my son (who is struggling a bit with sleep) and I can't help but feel worried about so much. Worried not so much for myself, but for so many of those around me who stand to lose so much in the coming months and years. I'm here for you. We're in this together.

The years seem to keep on coming and each year seems a bit shorter. Feel like I'm doing pretty well right now. This is 44. I'm hoping for many more.

Last day before break tomorrow. It's been a wild short semester. Looking forward to 2 weeks off to spend with family and on a few projects.

One of my justifications for multiple guitars is that feeling of "coming home" to an instrument. When you pick one up after not playing it for a while there's that realization of why you bought it all over again and all is right on the world for just a little bit.

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.

Had my 4th period not show up today so I sat at the piano and tried to see how many Christmas songs I could play by ear/from memory and then jazz up a bit. Why did I ever leave music teaching?

The show choir kid in me is lobbying hard for learning the Wicked movie "dancing through life" choreo... The 43 year old man's body is unsure if that is wise.
