Black Nerd, Liverpool and Celtic die-hard, I believe in the socialism of Benn, Booth, and Bevan
I do not say this lightly, considering the competition, but this is easily the most embarrassing public statement Bishop Barron has ever made

Really don't understand the outrage here. He's making a pretty solid point: we've been underperforming in Europe for two seasons in a row, and now is the time to level up. People are taking it as a provocation because they're already primed for negativity
"Winning 6-0 should be an act of release, a shared exhale. Instead, we were served another jolt of needless provocation. The Atalanta reference was not careless, it was calculated. It was repeated. It was framed. And it landed with a thud."

Slot's honesty is going to rub a lot of people the wrong way, but he's ultimately correct to put Liverpool's current state in the context of the chronic underperformance that marked the end of the Klopp era.

The "Moreover, ICE must be abolished" account over on Twitter must be doing insane numbers

Arsenal is really about to lose the league

For this to be functional, the start date would have to be like 2010
Maybe instead of identifying specific ICE agents who do particularly heinous things, we could just penalize everyone who was on payroll at the agency starting by a certain date.

This has always been a weird expression to me. Like it's objectively extremely weird to focus on the fact that the enemy power in WWII was German and not, you know, the other thing

Also like, isn't Trump German?
Trump in Davos, Switzerland:

"Without us, right now you'd all be speaking German".

German is the main language of Switzerland.

What I think is happening:

1. ICE are behaving like a gang of thugs
2. They ARE a duly constituted law enforcement agency, whose behavior is the direct result of poor (or nonexistent) oversight
3. American liberals don't have the moral language to express this dissonance without special pleading
I am very very close to adding “WELL ACTUALLY ICE ISN’T LAW ENFORCEMENT” on the instant-block list.

I remember how pissy he would get when people called him "the guy who did Dilbert" in reply to his rants. And now tributes are near-unanimous in recognizing that it was ths only significant thing that he did
Scott Adams, the creator of the comic strip “Dilbert,” which poked fun at corporate jargon and managerial ineptitude, died. Adams drew criticism after he veered into far-right political terrain.
Scott Adams, ‘Dilbert’ creator who poked fun at bad bosses, dies at 68
His three-panel comic strip was published in more than 2,000 newspapers, only to fade from view after Mr. Adams made racist comments on a YouTube live stream.

I mean, in many respects this is a massive improvement over their previous strategy, which was to do neither
Recent statements from political strategists and Democratic Party insiders seem to suggest that the party’s strategy for the 2026 midterm races — particularly in hotly contested swing districts — will be to focus on economic concerns rather than on holding President Donald Trump accountable.
Polls Undercut Dem Strategy to Avoid Discussing Trump Impeachment in Midterms
Democratic strategists are telling swing district candidates to focus on the economy and to avoid discussing Trump.

There's a point as a manager at which you don't do the omerta shit. You stand up and say "my man was wrong and I've had a talk with him". Arteta won't draw that like because he's not a man. He has no character at all. So he's got no room to speak on anyone else's.
