Hey, look at this vintage Hungarian cover for Dracula - it's one of my favorite editions of this book. He's just kind of standing there. (This is an alternate version of a 1925 cover drawn by Tibor Gönczi-Gebhardt.)

someone recently ended a five-year friendship with me because I said that using AI for creative work was unethical even if it made things easier for them as a struggling writer. so let me just clarify - I hate AI, and if you use it to write, I'm more than happy to never, ever be friends again.

It’s totally okay to be inspired by something you think is bad or otherwise have a lot of criticisms of. A story could be flawed but still have ideas and concepts you like. Good ideas deserve to be done properly. To be used to their full potential.

7. You don't need cops to investigate the horrors in a horror story. Humans are naturally curious and seldom mind their own business. Have some self-respect and cast a librarian.

Because you're used to not being welcome to sit at the table, so fuck that noise and impose your much-needed contribution on the writing world. Because you know the cishet white guys aren't stressing about being too bold.

I don't want to write a relatable romance plot. I prefer writing a romance plot that makes the readers want to study both characters under a microscope to understand what is going on with them. #writing
