Unfortunately, many Kurds are posting about Atatürk after the ongoing “peace talks.” This is solid proof of how assimilation works — it makes you celebrate your own oppressor. When your enemy becomes your idol, the colonizer’s project is complete.

Today is the anniversary of Atatürk — the founder of Turkey, yet responsible for atrocities like the Dersim and Zilan genocides. It’s disturbing to see critical scholars sharing condolences while ignoring these crimes. This is not respect — it’s hypocrisy.

Nevsin Mengu rahatsız olsa bile, kendisi de dahil olmak üzere tüm Kemalistler faşist ve ırkçıdır.

Universities in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union thought that complying with authoritarian demands would protect their independence. It didn’t—and history is warning us again.

Universities in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union thought giving in to government demands would save their independence
Before the Nazis, German universities were among the best in the world. Step by step, the universities gave up their independence until they were instruments of the state.

I worked like a beast for 4 years, wrote a 333-page dissertation, yet I still mark 'Mr.' on every form. In presentations, I say 'doctoral candidate.' I feel like a real superhero - ordinary by day, secretly a doctor. I break into sweat when someone asks 'Didn't you finish?' 🦸‍♂️🎓

4 yıl boyunca hayvan gibi çalıştım, 333 sayfalık tez yazdım, ama hala her formda 'Mr.' işaretliyorum. Sunumlarda 'doktora adayı' diyorum. Gerçek süper kahraman gibi hissediyorum - gündüz sıradan biri, gizlice doktor. Birisi ' Tez bitmedi mi?' deyince ter basıyor. 🦸‍♂️🎓

I do not care what's going to happen with stock markets. Hopefully, all of them will crash to zero just like other capitalist institutions deserve to. The financial anxiety of the investor class means nothing to me. Their system is designed to fail, and I'm here for the collapse.

Refugee education operates under the shadow of colonial praxis. Providing education to displaced children should not mean forcing them to abandon their language, culture, and identities. Education should not be a trade-off for assimilation but a means to empower without erasure.

Thousands of Kurds, including human rights activists, children, women, journalists, politicians, and teachers, have been killed in Rojava. How much longer can the world turn a blind eye? It’s time to raise your voice and stand against these atrocities—stand fo justice, and freedom. Enough is enough!

The beloved #Kurdish actor, Bavê Teyar, a symbol of humor, resilience has tragically lost his life in #Turkish attack on a #Rojava's Tishreen Dam. Bavê Teyar was more than an artist; he was a voice for his people, a guardian of their dreams, and a relentless advocate for justice. Rest in peace. 🌹

Imagine a nation forced to displacement at least 10 times in 30 years, yet no one talks about them. Even critical and postcolonial scholars ignore their suffering. Why this hypocrisy? Why are some stories not worth telling?

The tragedy of Syria reflects the cyclical violence of imperialism. Created through imperialist designs at the cost of millions of lives, Syria now faces dissolution under similar forces, again at the cost of countless lives. A stark reminder of the human toll of power politics.

This is not about redrawing borders in the Middle East—it’s about deepening the crisis and institutionalizing violence against women, children, and minorities. The West of Syria is on track to become the next Afghanistan. The world cannot afford to look away.

Once again, the Kurds are abandoned by the West. Millions of Kurds, Armenians, Assyrians, and Christians have to flee from Aleppo, leaving behind their homes, heritage, and history.

In Syria, the reality is grim: Assad is a dictator and oppressor, but his opponents, like the SNA/FSA, are also oppressive forces. Fighting against an oppressor does not automatically make you a liberator. True support for the Syrian people means standing with those seeking freedom and justice.
