Another trip to Japan is officially on the books for Feb 2026.

Staying there is cheaper than living here in Washington State.

~$40/night per person for a nice place in a good area: Namba, Osaka.

HQ is Osaka this time around, Kobe being a regular destination I'm thinking....

I always forget how badass the Polar Express movie is.

It wasn't that great to me when it came out, but better and better every year.

Lil' Timmy in a Christmas Story would walk around outside of churches and businesses explicitly showing off his disability, so others would feel better that they're more able than him.

This is in the story, not joshin.

He was a manipulative bastard is all I'm saying.

Ugh, took my Adderall for the first time in weeks and suddenly feel better, cleaned my desk - which makes me feel even betterer. I have to get out of hoarder mode with those meds now that they're a bit easier to refill.

Still have a general tiredness underneath it all, but can at least stand up now

Slept almost 20 hrs yesterday, probably 14 the day before, same before that.

Neverending tiredness lately. This is weather related, but still really sucks feels like I shouldn't even bother getting out of bed (I mean, I didn't yesterday) for a few days.

Yeeeehaww!

Cheating in a new single player game, having a blast cheating, y'all! *pew*pew*pew*

I don't care what the designers and devs wanted me to experience, cheating away and having a blast!!!!

*wipes away a tear*
This is truly what it means to be an adult.

Pretty sure the last year was depressioned away.
That is, I was in a depression-based haze the entire time.

Year before and before too, I think.

It would be quite nice to not be going through this anymore.

On average, we get six more minutes of sunlight each day starting nowish.

Cherish them, because soon, and in our hubris, nature will savagely take them away in half a year as we're thrown far away from the sun's life-giving light.

When we say "no, everything hasn't been digitized," I need you to understand that we really mean is that virtually nothing has been digitized. This is because the realm of primary sources that historians use is incomprehensibly large.

Hey friends who either live in Seattle or have visited.
My favorite place in the city needs help. This place is like a second home to me.

Raygun Lounge on Pine needs help to keep the lights on. Soon to have new ownership by a close friend.
Donate if you can and please spread the word.
Thank you.

The only prompt I'd allow to write my tests, and I do think this would be a time saver in the end, would be:

"Write a BLANK unit test for each public method that fails by default, don't put anything in the method bodies."

then I fill in the methods
every product in 2030 is going to have thousands of tests implemented as like

test_x => true
One really, really, really good use case for AI and coding:

Writing unit integration tests.

I always hated doing these, because most of the effort was about the setup (remembering how to use the test framework, how to create a fake, a mock, the syntax)

Love handing it off!!

I've talked about how difficult it is to take a screenplay and come out with a movie from it before.

I want to challenge you, follow the links below (they easily go back to 2017) and read the screenplay for a movie you want to watch.

Read
Watch
Think about the steps.
That's why you need creatives.
