The proposed AI regulatory moratorium has generated intense debate in Congress, media, and policy circles. I have created a compendium that lists major media coverage of the proposal, as well as supporting and opposing perspectives. I will update as I find more.

In just the first four months of this year, state legislators across the country have introduced thousand artificial intelligence bills. @kevintfrazier.bsky.social and @adamthierer.bsky.social argue that to encourage an innovative national AI marketplace, Congress needs to preempt these regulations.

New! Latest piece from Dr Keegan McBride, @oiioxford.bsky.social and @adamthierer.bsky.social, R Street Institute, writing for @lawfare.bsky.social discussing the limitations of international agreements.
Rapid advances in AI has led many governments to push for AI safety treaties. Keegan McBride and @adamthierer.bsky.social argue that joining these treaties could limit the U.S.'s ability to maintain its technological dominance and impact its long-term interests and national security.
