Library Clerk and geek of many stripes (comics, board games, anime, manga, fairy tales, etc). Nerdy enough to watch anime. Old enough to not give a damn if someone calls them "Japanese cartoons".
Stop what you're doing and post a gif of your favorite anime.

(Okay, so it's ONE of my favorites. I don't have a ranked list).

You know, I like Spy x Family, but I always seem to find my attention drifting to other stuff when I put an episode on. Probably because I've already read the story in the manga. #anime #manga

I got some engagement talking about Space Ghost yesterday. So, I thought I'd talk a bit more about the old Hanna-Barbera superheroes.

And one thing that the old H-B heroes were good at realizing is what an amalgous, pulpy genre superheroes are, and wearing that on their sleeve. [CONT]

Watching Rankin-Bass's Cricket on the Hearth. Which drove me to google whether or not there are green crickets. Because both Rankin-Bass and Disney depicts crickets as green. Most of the crickets I've seen are black or tan.

Got tired of both Christmas movies and anime, so now I'm watching Space Ghost. My relationship with the old Hanna-Barbera action heroes is strange, because I like this stuff for its straightforward simplicity [CONT]

Bought a duck at Wal-Mart. Well . . . Two ducks, technically.

Sometimes I hate it here.

Well, guess I ought to take a break to go to the stupid gym.

Stupid, stupid, gym.

Watching The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show.

Both Garfield and Peanuts had Saturday morning cartoons in the '80s. But Garfield is the more beloved one. Which is the opposite of the paradign when it comes to the newspaper strips.

Watching Dexter's Laboratory. I'm not sure this show held up as well as I expected it to. But this is the episode with Paul Williams, so at least there's that.

Watching Magilla Gorilla now.

Nothing to say beyond that.

Just watched an ep of Transformers Animated and now have moved onto the 2021 version of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

I love the 1980s action properties as long as they're not the actual ones from the 1980s. Because that was actually kind of a dire time for children's animation.

Watching Tennessee Tuxedo.

Do you think Mr. Whoopee was surprised when a penguin and walrus from the zoo first showed up to ask him for advice?
December 21, 2025 at 3:13 PM
Watching G.I. Joe: Renegades. I forgot how fitting this version of G.I. Joe felt for these times. Cobra is a giant, evil corporation. The government/military are a problem. And the ones you can trust are a small group of "ordinary joes".

You know what city is really unwalkable? Orbit City from The Jetsons.

"I'm just going to walk to the stor-AAAAAAAAAHH!"

I have decided to devote today to baking dinner rolls and watching cartoons (and also maybe cleaning the bathroom).

Currently making a tangzhong and watching The Tick.

Wrapping presents while watching a collection of Flintstones Christmas specials I found on Amazon Video.

And before anyone asks what the Flintstones and Rubbles are even celebrating, clearly they're celebrating the birth of the lord and savior of cavemankind, Gypsum Crust.

Oh, no. In this alternate world, Mary is a single librarian. That's . . . terrible? #ItsAWonderfulLife
December 13, 2025 at 7:55 PM
One detail I love from #ItsAWonderfulLife is how Clarence orders decidedly old-fashioned drinks when he's in the bar. Old as in *before the advent of the cocktail* (flaming rum punch and mulled wine).

So, did George Bailey get to travel after he retired or anything? Because, despite the positive message of the movie, it's sad that he tried so often to go places and was never able to. #ItsAWonderfulLife

Ah, it's that wonderful time of year again! The time of year when almost every set of characters marketable to kids get really into Charles Dickens for some reason.

Miracle on 34th Street has been remade multiple times, and the original is still the best version. Even if just because it starts from the position of the audience will also think Kris is a kind but delusional old man but leaves you questioning what was true. [CONT]

Currently making vegetable soup while watching Miracle on 34th Street.
