Got papped yesterday at the @biology.ox.ac.uk research showcase spreading the good word about mitochondrial dynamics! So fun being in the new LaMB building and interacting with psych/bio colleagues 🌱🧠

An exciting day! Our latest work is now out; we ask the question, are there any differences between plant mitochondria with and without mtDNA? 🌱

Check out our new preprint in which we use Arabidopsis mutation accumulation lines to quantify just how important the enigmatic plant MSH1 gene is for maintaining low mito and plastid mutation rates. So many mutations detected in msh1 lines!

Feedback appreciated!

If you know anyone who might be interested in working as a technician before a PhD, I'm looking for someone to work with me to generate some amazing data to understand the genetics of behavior, sex differences, and reproduction in an evolutionary context. Bonus? Amazing and supportive department!

Best letter. Ever.
Holy shit. Did you see the letter Olivia Troye’s attorney sent to Kash Patel after he threatened to sue her for defamation? Troye, a former Homeland Security advisor, had the BEST response.

Hey blue skies- We have updated our latest #BioRxiv paper-

We found that #mitochondria in #plants without mtDNA move and connect differently to those with mtDNA!

Now featuring two different methods of measuring mtDNA and mitochondrial motility.

Check it out: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

A revised version of our paper on Arabidopsis mitochondrial motion. Now using two methods of imaging mtDNA! Wonderful work by @chusteckisci.bsky.social
