Death on the Prowl is a satisfying end to the Campbell and Carter series that takes place in the same universe as her Mitchell and Markby series.

Ann Granger died last month.

My lease says No Animals, but sometimes this cutie comes to visit me. I'm calling them Jackie until I find out the gender. Then they will be Frodo or Velma. #Cats

Be you, we will rebuild, just keep swimming, dream. The ladybugs have differing opinions on their backsides: bugged but blissful and bug the baddies. Inspired by artist F. Sehnaz Bac.

My latest rockettes. Including the rock bottoms, they say: your voice matters, free speech, self care and persist.

Persistence with humor is what I take from Helen Lederer's memoir, Not that I'm Bitter. As a 70-something comedian/writer, she has survived a lot.

Emma Kennedy's novel The Never Ending Summer brought back so many memories of my twenties: first jobs, first loves and trying to learn survival skills, all while keeping a sense of humor.

Please don't say "Let's do coffee" to an autistic person unless you really mean it. If you knew how we immediately start making plans, you would feel stalked.

The Wedding People by Alison Espach. A newly divorced and devastated English professor reserves a night in an upscale hotel in order to end her life. When she mentions her plans to the bride, the self-centered woman forbids her to do it because it will ruin her wedding. Witty and thoughtful. #Novels

Long ago I joined Mensa in order to meet intelligent men. At my first meeting, I noticed the prevalence of social awkwardness and I thought, "These are my people." I didn't know about autism then.

No one told me this about abdominal surgery, so I will tell you. Your belly will swell up so that your jeans won't fit. It's leggings and sweatpants time.

The Maid, a mystery by Nita Prose. Suspenseful story of a hotel maid who seems to be autistic. When she finds a corpse in a hotel bed, her helpful efforts get her arrested. The author, a former special needs teacher, writes with skill, sympathy and humor.

Muriel Spark and Barbara Pym wrote novels set in mid-century London. When I tried to imagine their characters living in the same universe, I decided Pym's characters in The Sweet Dove Died were cynical enough to be in Spark's The Bachelors. #MurielSpark #BarbaraPym #Books

Harvey Girl arrives at the dollhouse.

The movie Harvey was based on this play by Mary Chase. In this recording, the script reader surprisingly imitates Jimmy Stewart's voice when he reads Elwood's part. The play's message of fanciful kindness still attracts theater goers.

OK, better do the usual addition:
All autistic people are of full worth.
All are loved fellow human beings.
Some may also have e.g profound intellectual disabilities or global developmental delay etc that means they need huge support.
They are still loved and still bringing so much to society.

Mr. And Mrs. North Meet Murder by Frances and Richard Lockridge (1940). I enjoyed this mystery in the Greenwich Village cocktail set. The occasional racism, sexism and ableism was jarring, but the cultural snapshot was interesting. For fans of The Thin Man. #Mysteries #CozyMysteries #Lockridge
