Thx to BC Hydro staff for a preview of the Revelstoke Dam Unit 6 open house, 5–8 this eve. This major project will have impacts and opportunities for Revelstoke. Hydro is exploring housing options including community partnerships. Last week, council met with Hydro staff at UBCM in Victoria on it.

Great to see Revelstoke’s Louise Pedersen from Outdoor Recreation Council of BC leading off an “Outdoor Recreation for Community Development and Economic Development” session here at the #UBCM 2025 convention here in Victoria. Panelists included reps from MOE, KORE, Elkford, and Tumbler Ridge.

Revelstoke’s first #cricket club formed in 1892 and the club is going strong now after a long hiatus. Teams from Nelson and Salmon Arm are in town playing under Mt. Begbie in a triple header today as part of the new Kootenay-Columbia Cup.

Mosquitoes are prolific in Revelstoke in 2025. It feels among the worst seasons in 15+ years. Additional treatments are being added; but a staff and contractor report both highlight known limitations. One report says what we really need is sustained hot and dry summer conditions to suppress them. 🦟

Revelstoke's Yorke Parkin is coming home with three gold medals from Italy's Special Olympics World Winter Games. The 16-year-old scored big in Advanced Slalom, Advanced Giant Slalom and Advanced Super G races.
