Celebrate Black History Month!
A black-and-white photo of four young Black men, the Greensboro Four (Ezell Blair Jr. [Jibreel Khazan], Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, and David Richmond), sitting at a lunch counter. News of their action spread, and by February 4th, 63 out of 6 seats were occupied by African Americans, mostly students. The student sit-in movement had begun. On Sunday, February 1st, AFGE’s across the country will hold vigils to honor their brother Alex Pretti. Ann Arbor’s will be held outside the VA (2215 Fuller Road) at 6pm.
