American football is one of those games where one team plays the first half and the opposing team plays the second half.

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.

Oh this is good. May I adopt this language?

Absolutely. But they'll pull electoral shenanigans, spin any loss as better-than-expected with media collaboration, and then the revival narrative will be handily confirmed.
Republicans have really convinced themselves there’s a massive Christian revival going on among Gen Z.

I explain why they think this, when all stats show it’s not true.

Better yet, they’re pinning their electoral hopes on it.

Sorry, GOP. There's no Christian revival
Republicans are betting the midterms on mass conversions that aren't happening

They want $1100 for a single teensy drone and they're claiming this will reduce global malaria.

Look I'm accepting of all relationship structures. And my own colonoscopy report noted TWICE what clean prep Is done. So I understand the brag.

NE PA is a big trump area now, and the general explanation of that sort of thing is working class economic anxiety...but I suspect the much more relevant factor is that coal mines were closed to Black people and so the area was overwhelmingly white. 1
yeah, I grew up in a former coal mining area (NE PA) and this very much tracks.
The story, time and again, is that gains are broad and small and losses are localized and deep.

There are towns in northern England that are generationally traumatized from the shutting of coal mines forty years ago.
