An important step to have full voter enfranchisement in DC! @councilofdc.bsky.social should support @cmbrookepinto.bsky.social’s amendment.
Also interesting: Ward 2 Councilmember Brooke Pinto is proposing an amendment to fund semi-open primaries in D.C., which was one half of Initiative 83. The other half, ranked-choice voting, is being funded separately. If this passes, D.C. would get RCV and semi-open primaries in 2026.
Interesting: An amendment from Ward 7 Councilmember Wendell Felder and At-Large Councilmember Anita Bonds that would have delayed ranked-choice voting (by requiring a feasibility study first) has been withdrawn. So for now it looks like RCV will come to D.C. elections in 2026.

@cmbrookepinto.bsky.social Thank you for voting at the last budget meeting to respect DC voters on the tipped wage! Appreciate your vote for ranked choice voting last time, but Initiative 83 needs to be fully funded. Please do the right thing Monday!

Dear @cmbrookepinto.bsky.social please hold the line and fully fund Initiative 83. The voters approved it and we don’t need more study. Counting on your leadership! #ward2 resident here. Thanks

This was me, a little over a year ago, dressed in suffragette white, wearing a sandwich board stating: I CANNOT VOTE TODAY ASK ME WHY. As a registered unaffiliated (independent) voter, I'm barred from voting in DC's taxpayer-funded primary elections. 73% of voters here want to change that. 1/2

One great thing about ranked choice voting: it demonstrates who’s in it on values (demonstrated via coalition building) and who’s just in it for ego and power. More of this please!
Proud to cross-endorse with Michael Blake and to be ranked #2 on his ballot.

We can turn the page on Andrew Cuomo's politics of disgrace with unity.
