He explained in a statement to Loren LoRosa that he and his siblings were originally left out of the loop, saying, “It would’ve been a pleasure to attend, but unfortunately, my siblings and I haven’t received an invitation to be part of this moment celebrating our parents’ lives and work.” The statement went viral almost immediately because it didn't sit right with fans that the children of the man being honored weren't going to be there. Now that things have been smoothed over, it’s confirmed that Michael will be in the building to watch the tribute. It’s a move that had to happen, especially since Michael has stayed so grateful through the whole thing.
