getting into Ridge Racer has helped me to understand the core appeal of arcade-style racers and why it's sad when the market is underserved

Being a fan of 90's-2000's Falcom is so rough because they had an output frequency and design tightness like nobody else in the ARPG space, they appealed to the "impatient but focused gamer" so well but now Falcom has become THE "let's fill our games with infinite filler-mechanic bullshit" company.
That Tokyo Xanadu sequel fails to really appeal to me in any way, much like Tokyo Xanadu itself.
This really sucks because Xanadu Next is one of my favorite games but it is increasingly clear to me Falcom will never make a good straightforward dungeon crawler ever again and hates me specifically.

I'm sitting here with a nearly finished game but no soundtrack and no story cutscenes.
Doing game dev mostly solo (because I'm a picky bitch more than anything) is both super fun and a PAIN in the ASS. The next project is going to be significantly smaller for sure.

I really appreciate the Tsui no Sora translation using cursing where appropriate. So often a character *in japanese* is being intense, crass or crude and often translations will just drop that because jp doesn't *technically* have swearing but it has the vibe of swearing so SAY FUCK BITCH SHIT ASS!

MegaMan Power Battle 1 is a cool idea but such a pushover I was actually kinda disappointed that I 1CCed a route on my first try, and the other 2 routes will probably only take me 1 extra try to 1CC.
It is disappointingly easy, every boss is notably easier than their console counterparts.
