While I'm correcting misinformation spreading rampantly on X, the MTA is not phasing out yellow/orange seats next year. They're starting to phase them out, but it's going to take years for all R211s to arrive. The R262 contract - which will replace the 1/3 cars - hasn't been put out to bid yet.
How is this possible? I've been seeing alot of this reporting (not just in the Post) It's hard to see how transit completes the phase out of just the R46 era cars in 2025, not to mention the R68/R68a R62/R62a as well. cc @2avesag.as

What a wonder initiative. Spreads the cheer of the season, especially amongst people who have to work or are online in Thanksgiving.
Transit obviously tacitly tolerates this event as they’re multiple locations, but I’d love to see them sponsor it officially. This should be a tradition!
