It may be that species cooperate way more than we are willing to admit. The narrative does not help the capitalistic mindset of many, what is lovely.

Northern resident killer whales appear to use dolphins as ‘scouts’, in a surprising cooperative hunting strategy Orcas and dolphins have been spotted working as a team to hunt salmon off the coast of British Columbia, according to a new study which suggests a cooperative relationship between the two predators. By this argument we can then say that elephants were saved by their coevolution with chimpanzees haha. I think we always oversimplify very complex processes including humans as a group. But I find labelling all humans as destructors is quite dangerous. The perpetuators get responsibility diluted.

But Asia is full of large animals, elephants, rhinos, large herbivores. Never understood well this idea that in Africa large animals exist coz they coevolved with humans. I don’t like to romanticise aboriginal people, but I do think there is good evidence that it is not all humans.
