Not being allowed to hand water to people in line to vote no matter who they are voting for, while being allowed to hand people million dollar checks to get their vote, is the most American thing ever.

There is no “novel legal theory” about a third term, as some reporters are parroting. It’s not legal, and the idea of seizing permanent power isn’t a “theory,” it’s just what dictators do.

Hmmm, looks like a pattern....

This is Winston Churchill visiting the White House during World War II.

Funny how he isn’t wearing a suit either. Almost like he was a wartime leader defending his country from being slaughtered and wiped out by an authoritarian aggressor.

OK, nerdy I know - but when I was a boy my older sister's husband, basically as a PhD student at Okla State U, started working on how to contain hydrogen plasma/fusion. "If we can get it right" he said "a teaspoon of the stuff would fuel the whole country."

After 50 years in prison, Leonard Peltier is free. BUT In some US counties in Native lands, MURDERS of Indian WOMEN are 10X HIGHER than for all races (DoJ). HALF of Native American WOMEN report sexual assault, a THIRD report RAPE during their lifetime, 2.5 times HIGHER than for white women (NIJ)

Van Hollen: "Can you imagine FDR in the middle of WW2 saying to Churchill, 'you know, we're not going to continue to help you until you turn over half of your coal and mineral reserves.' That's not how you behave when you want to support a friend who's under attack by an authoritarian like Putin."

It's take your misogynistic puppet to school day!

If I were Canadian PM I would immediately:

1. Create a new $15B science fund

2. Offer any credentialed US scientist funding for lab startup and replacement of NIH grants if they move to Canada

3. Immediate permanent residency

4. Citizenship after 2 years

Overnight a science superpower
Wow. Caroline Kennedy breaks her silence on RFK Jr in a message to Senators: “We grew up together. It’s no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because Bobby himself is a predator. He enjoyed showing off by putting baby chickens & mice in a blender to feed to his hawks.”

Saw my first "live" Deplorians in Texas last week - Unlike the dinosaurs they won't need an astroid to wipe them out since they tend to commit vehicular-suicide out of profound shame.

I'm with Harry on this.

Choice B: invest in the private sector, diverting NHS funds, weakening the NHS

As a tax payer I do not consent to my money funding private healthcare.

Jimmy Carter putting his peanut farm into a blind trust reminds me of that time Donald Trump’s son-in-law took $2 Billion from the Saudis who murdered Jamal Khashoggi.

After the assault on the Capital Jimmy Carter wrote a clear, cogent, and insightful piece in the NYT explaining what it meant for our politics and our country - as powerful today as then.
New York Times Editor’s note: “Jimmy Carter died on Dec. 29, 2024. Roughly a year before he entered hospice care, he wrote his final New York Times Opinion essay. In it, he looked back on the Capitol riot and explained why he was so worried about American democracy.”

The alleviation of women's abuse "is made less likely by the mandated subservience of women by Christian fundamentalists. What is especially disappointing...is the docile acceptance by so many strong Christian women of their subjugation & restricted role." - Jimmy Carter (RIP)

President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100. He was a symbol of what is best about America: kindness, compassion, duty and service. He will be missed, most of all by those who long for a return of that kind of country, led by a man with such strength of character.
This is so spot-on it’s scary.
