📌BREAKING: Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer just announced that he plans to vote to advance a government funding bill, which is a green light for Musk/Trump to continue terrorizing Americans.

📌I am calling for him to step down immediately. He is no damn leader.

FYI, number 53 passed away last year. A few folks on this list do not have academic/professor positions. And my field of research is climate modeling, specifically high resolution climate projections and regional impact assessments. Climate change communication is what I do on the side!

This is based on the horse💩 assumption that 🇺🇸 scientists are better than 🇨🇦 scientists. I'm here to tell you they aren't. What they are, and have been for 80 years, is better funded. You want better 🇨🇦 science? Spend more 🇨🇦 $ on 🇨🇦 Scientists. We will get you there.

Am in Bergen for the Nordic Media Days conference. Ive been getting emails & seeing posts from readers irritated about the WPost using Pulitzer win for subscription ads so thought I'd share what my Norwegian hosts graciously left in my hotel room.

Just saying.
The scientific community, not only in the USA but worldwide, will lose an iconic environmental observatory! No one, but no one, could possibly benefit from the dismantling of such a unique observatory.
Just learned this from @fuentes

My field sites are at 430 ppm. Closing this site wont make CO2 go away. Action and proper political choices will. Vote next time!

@cmacquar.bsky.social I would not say 'we [Canadian scientists]' will get you there'. Having worked in Canada and USA, my experience is that both groups are about the caliber, e.g., Canada has had its share of Nobel Laureates! Funding for science is less in Canada for sure.
