Last week we sampled in Cap de Creus to test #eDNA on fish and invertebrate communities 🧬🐟.This technique detects species from their genetic traces in the water,no need to capture them. The work is part of the EU projects #GES4SEAS and #PETRIFY

Jan Geert, that is brilliant. This is a missing link in the marine carbon accounting capabilities. I see loads of synergies...

And D.T. is a really angry slug

I don't post often, but the US slaughterhouse is getting beyond ridiculous. NOAA forced to decommission essential monitoring and historical climate data!? Good grief. Mango Mussolini is insane. www.nesdis.noaa.gov/about/docume...

DDG has been my default search engine for over a decade. It pulls data from multiple sources and maintains no user data whatsoever. I can only support @martinattrill.bsky.social

I concur.

The data is in. 2024 was the warmest year on record, and probably in the whole of human history – about 1.6°C warmer than the pre-industrial period.

More than 1 billion individual thermometer measurements, made by thousands of people over many decades, have been condensed into a single number.

Yeah -- I looked into this recently. There isn't a projection ready-to-go from cartopy/proj, but I did find this repo: github.com/rtlemos/spil...

And Subnautica, ofc! Can't wait for the public beta of SN 2...

My main development machine dated from 2014, finally replaced it last summer. Even though I had a new laptop ready for over a year, the complexities of transferring over were the main reason it took so long. Where to find three free days?
