He’s good at the bowling and good at the batting/
but at flipping the coin he is not the boss, sir/
that’s why they call him a terrible tosser”.

Today in 1921 a white mob attacked the black community in Tulsa, Oklahoma with guns, aircraft & incendiary bombs. As many as 300 were killed, 10,000 black people were left homeless.
This feels like the defining image from this year’s Midwest Political Science Association annual meeting.

The National Science Foundatipn paid for a booth in the exhibit hall. But the booth sits empty, because NSF has been DOGE’d, and there is no one left to send.

A man whose idea of man-mgmt dealing w a player struggling thru injury and some trauma got him sacked and yet he’s employed by both BBC and Talksport to offer his insight!

Thought a talk I did this week at @EdinburghUni might be of interest to politics students and anyone else who, like me, still thinks the Tories are worth paying attention to. This is Part One of what'll be a mega thread.

It is difficult to appreciate just how badly JD Vance’s comments are going down with military leaders, families of fallen soldiers & citizens across Europe.

This is the UK’s most popular independent radio station, LBC.

- I think this may be a strong example of Twitter failing in a reasonable expectation to provide me with an equal service (Equality Act 2010): the reporting system allowed this + actual staff ignored messages about it.

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell.

This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

And this makes essentially the point for @philipjcowley.bsky.social Liz Truss assumed that the local stations wd be an easy ride revealing that she had v little knowledge of them.
It was interesting during the Truss episode that there was national coverage of her disastrous performance in a succession of local radio interviews, one of the rare occasions where I remember due credit being given to local broadcasters.

@thebugle.bsky.social - did no one notice that the woman’s mic wasn’t working???
