Acho que um dos motivos é que pirataria em massa ficou muito nichada, e ninguém quer perder 40 min baixando música por música.
Zotify tbm é bem difícil de usar.
Não precisaram matar a pirataria, só deixar menos cômodo pra ela cair em desuso.

From the comments where I shared elsewhere I've seen Deezer, a pirated APK for Spotify premium, Tidal, Stacher to get tracks from YT, Zotify, Newpipe, Bandcamp, Quobuz, and just plain ownership of mp3s (and using VLC or other player). I'm gonna order a Zune and go old school 😊
