Just spacing out the oak parquet ahead if laying the floor for MrsG’s sewing room. It’s going to look lovely when laid, sanded, & coated with Osmo PolyX waxoil.
I also fitted a mohair roof with a glass screen and wrapped the centre console and door cards in leather.
Despite being a very early one she was barely rusty underneath and I braced her frame rails as well as steeped her in waxoil, so she was nice and solid. Just her faded paint let her down a bit.

Thanks Roy. That looks great. I used PolyX waxoil on all the internal oak, but never used shellac, am sure I’ll get chance to try it.

I thought the subtle difference with the raw woods would work well, but clear waxoil makes the pale tiles very dark. Here unsanded, sanded, treated. Such a surprise. The pale steps just clashed in my view. Agreed it is a matter of taste👍😊

Agreed, but the stark contrast between both woods when treated with clear PolyX Waxoil was a clash in this situation with light step treads next to the dark floor. I think the woods need to complement, & the close match now will work really well.

The kitchen floor has scrubbed up nicely. Parquet floor refinished with PolyX waxoil.

Blue Oyster mushrooms from #FatFoxMushrooms, so enthusiastic they have burst out of the back of the box as well as the cut hole at the front. All set for a mushroom omelette, as soon as I can access to the kitchen after the parquet floor waxoil has dried😊
