BARNWELL AREA A test well is being drilled at the west end of Wagoner Road, west of the airport.  Morrow Water Technologies is the test well drilling contractor. If the test well is successful a production well may be installed there -- as well as a new water tank-tower, according to utility department sources. The property owner (Blue Sky Holdings, Llc.) has agreed to donate some of the property to the city. Three more test wells are planned as well, at other sites. Fairhope, Alabama thefairhopetimes.blogspot.com    Well 14.    NUMBER 14 The city's newest water well passed its final inspection by the Alabama Department of Enviromental Management, according to water department manager Morefield. Well number 14 is now ready for final installation and could be in service in a month or two, he said. It had been hoped that this well, and new well 13 south of town would be online by this summer, but they both ran into "technical" problems  Morefield said. Well 13 is still awaiting a pipe easement from a neighboring property owner. Fairhope, Alabama thefairhopetimes.blogspot.com    Well 14.    WELL FOURTEEN Most of the piping is now in place and electrical connections are being made for the city's newest water well, number 14 at 8717 Fairhope Avenue; the pump/motor remains to be installed. Water treatment facilities there had to be upgraded too, to handle the increased capacity. The well was drilled last summer; work is underway now to connect new well number 14 at treatment plant #1 on Fairhope Avenue east of the Elementary School as well. CR 33 AREA After the city council finalized purchase of an earlier temporary easement (for a test well) on Boone Lane south of town from the property owner Bible Way Holiness Church (for $18K), the pump and motor were installed earlier this week. The well itself was drilled last summer. Fairhope, Alabama    Water well #14.   ADDED WATER CAPACITY  The contractor has almost completed drilling of the city's fourteenth water well at treatment plant #1 just north of Fairhope Avenue behind the elementary school; installation of the pump itself is all that remains before it can come online in coming weeks. Mayor Sullivan said recently she still expects it to be in operation by the summer, when water use is traditionally highest. Work is just beginning on installing pumping equipment for well thirteen at treatment plant #3 on River Park Road near the Marlow community as well. Fairhope, Alabama    Well number 4.   TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND The rapidly-growing town of Silver Hill is drilling a fourth water well on property it acquired about two years ago on CR 49, south of Hwy 104. A new storage tank tower is to be built there too using a $2.4 million federal American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) grant awarded last year.
