Could be talking out of my ass, but I think the main point of directives is that they mark boundaries. Function calls don't mark boundaries, and the ability to mix and match useServer/useClient would probably make it more difficult to understand what's happening.

Tbh., in your case it would probably mean "just slap 'use client' everywhere and keep the frontend you already have" - although I would encourage to migrate from `useClient` to `useSuspenseClient` as that will also SSR your data in Client Components correctly.
