Slime molds are nontoxic & do not harm plants or animals, but several animals DO eat slime molds, including some people!

Im Wald gibt es so einige seltsame Lebensformen. Dazu gehört auch dieser nach Kaviar aussehende Schleimpilz, der orange leuchtend auf abgestorbenem Holz zu finden ist.

Fuligo septica has a history of forage in both the Americas & Europe, and probably elsewhere. I think it was likely used as medicine rather than food (zinc / chelators / etc).

I thought Tubifera was pretty good but I only tried a little. Reticularia lycoperdon is the one everybody wants.
Reticularia lycoperdon is traditionally foraged and prepared by the Nahuatl people. It is boiled or roasted in leaves or foil, and then usually eaten on tacos. The flavor supposedly resembles cheese, almond, & mushroom Reticularia lycoperdon Reticularia lycoperdon
