It's just... it's incredibly imbalanced right now. Think of the taijitu (the "circular yin yang black and white fish symbol") and when the white area, the YANG, is at its maximum influence.

#BattleTech nonsense: 'Mechs painted based on the flags of places I've visited.

Three 'Mechs on a countertop with some random apartment huff (and a trans flag) in the background. From left to right: a red and blue Orion with yellow trim, a white Night Gyr with single dark blue stripes going vertically right (viewer's left) of center and roughly waist-high vertically, and a red-and-white Enforcer with a big red maple leaf on the chest. They ain't subtle.

The Orion singly, colored in big vertical blocks: red side torsos, arms, and legs; medium-blue center torso and pelvis. This boxy "I am a walky tank" classic sports gold-yellow trim around the missile launchers and 'wrists' and a Soyombo on the right thigh. It may not be appropriate to describe the national symbol of Mongolia, created by the polymath and apparently pretty cool guy of Zanabazar, as a sort of remarkably modern idealized wooden-block tower with a taijitu (ying-yang) in the middle and a fire-sun disc-moon crescent trifecta on top, but hopefully that does help to visualize it.

Its arms are slightly spread and it is stepping forward as if to ask if you would like a piece of it. You probably do not.

An Enforcer painted like the Canadian flag. Davion 'Mech, Anglo-French influenced Successor State, Anglo-French originator of a lot of the incidents that built the modern Geneva Conventions, the connection is pretty obvious. The arms and the outsides of the legs are a lighter shade of red; everything else is white, save for the big proud maple leaf spanning the center torso. It has both arms lifted up like it's in the middle of a complex standoff.

The 11th-century #Confucian philosopher Zhou Dunyi invented a symbol called the taijitu.

Part of the taijitu evolved into today's yin-yang symbol.

A sacred chao, like a taijitu but with a pentagram on one side and a golden apple on the other, both sides the same color - the golden apple says "kallisti" on it maybe in greek, definitely in greek letters. A traditional symbol of discordianism, often accompanies by a hearty "Hail Eris!"
