Apple's Upcoming Home Hub Could Include 'Robotic Swiveling Base'
The home hub device that Apple plans to release as soon as this spring has a "robotic swiveling base," according to The Information's Wayne Ma. Ma mentioned the new detail in a piece outlining Apple's work on an AI pin. Apple is also working on a home product featuring a small display, speakers and a robotic swiveling base, designed with a heavy emphasis on AI features. That device could be released as soon as this spring, according to two of the people. We've heard a lot of rumors about the home hub because it was supposed to launch in 2025, but to date, no rumors have suggested that it will have a swiveling robotic base. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously said that Apple is developing two versions of the hub, one that's meant to be mounted on the wall and another that has a HomePod mini-like speaker base that can be placed on a desktop or countertop. No prior descriptions of the home hub base have suggested that it will have any kind of swivel function or that it will be robotic. In fact, the wording sounds similar to how Gurman has described Apple's tabletop robot, which will be a 2027 follow up to the home hub. Gurman said the tabletop robot will have an iPad-like display mounted on a thin robotic arm that allows the display to tilt up and down and rotate 360 degrees. The device will be able to reposition itself to face whoever is speaking, and it is said to have a "visual personality." Ma did not go into detail on the purpose of the robotic swiveling base, or how it will work, but presumably it would be able to move to face people. The home hub is supposed to have an array of sensors that let it determine when someone is in the room. We are expecting the home hub to launch in the coming months, right around the time that Apple debuts iOS 26.4 with the upgraded version of Siri.Tags: Apple Command Center, Apple Robot This article, "Apple's Upcoming Home Hub Could Include 'Robotic Swiveling Base'" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

Is this what it feels like to be Timothee Seven-Layer Burrito?

At this point I've committed to Taco Bell menu items thing and am in too deep

Windjammers 2 is a lot of fun but also there is a learning curve. You have to think of it like swiveling your throw with the analog stick. Hard to describe.

Ok, I've got to give credit and praise to the #Transformers design team for AotP Alpha Trion. He's intentionally designed with a neck joint that allows him to look down at his book and quill in a very natural looking way.

Swiveling wrists would have gone a long way to help posing those, but still.

I think...its different cuz how the others cheat is more like Mario kart power-up levels of stuff (like having a dragon fly a car over a ravine or a tank using its nozzle to propel forward) whereas he's swiveling signs, chaining cars to the starting line etc

Yeah they're like indoor swiveling cameras. They're pretty cheap. I got two for something like 30 bucks.

I’m not autistic and ADHD because of vaccines or Tylenol. I’m AuDHD because a man who liked trains and radios better than people married a woman who never stops talking or swiveling in chairs.

now, if you work the tournaments, it's also a 50-50. on one hand, yes, your Round 1 days actually become manageable, there is less of head-swiveling panic b/c there's so much going on. on the other hand...THAT'S A WHOLE EXTRA DAY OF WORK.

( head swiveling, looking over her shoulder. yellow eyes stare to alpha's own, intense with a deranged hope. a sickening yearning - for him? )

"even with the force of every public safety division combined, it still wouldn't be enough to conquer this looming threat."

. . .

"alpha."

You know how on a monitor arm there's like a point that is simultaneously the best position and angled a tiny bit too far so that the monitor will keep very slightly swiveling away

I imagine Bill’s head swiveling rapidly to make meaningful eye contact with the camera after a good zinger like this. iykyk

Saw a G-wagon the other day, incredibly suspicious - a guy scared out his mind swiveling and looking at every single pedestrian and just some random old lady on the passenger side

and clearly two other guys sitting in the back obscured by the tinted windows
Thanks. We have folks in our community giving vulnerable students rides to school, and a teacher shared that they were putting small stuffed animals on their dashboards to help kids identify safe cars. ICE picked up on it and started doing the same. Horrifying.

A shot I think of is in the Matrix, at 34 seconds in the clip - the tracking movement + rack focus + physically swiveling the phone as it rings, plus rotating 180 from the prior shot of it - it creates this extremely effective and visually unsettling dynamic movement youtu.be/Lweuy1X9Tcg?...

How could Santana have beef with Ortiz? That makes no sense. - You're talking about a man who is out here swiveling his hips and doing tiger poses. #LWRumble2026 🤼

Rare for him not to tag along hm?
