In the foreground are brambles with some autumn colour remaining.
The blue sky, clouds, trees, opposite bank and war memorial are reflected on the water. This pond is a magnet for seagulls and there are a number near the bank. Poking out of the trees is a typical cottage of this area. My photo is framed at the top by branches of a conifer, on the right by a silver birch sapling, on the left by a conifer and its reflection and at the bottom by the pond bank.

In the foreground the woodland floor is covered with leaves and shadows. Through the trees at the edge of the wood is a bright green grassy hill which leads down to a cricket pitch. Trees are at the bottom of the of the hill and in the distance are the hills surrounding the Devil’s Punchbowl. This was a late November afternoon.

There are 3 alternative routes I walk along to the Devil’s Punchbowl. They all have a wooded section and long distance views. My photo shows a tunnel of trees with the woodland floor covered in autumn leaves.
