A follow-up: today in the SIGCHI town hall, ACM President Yannis Ioannidis expressed the long term goal that in general, things that were in the DL before ACM OPEN would be made available in the Basic Edition, with new features in the Premium Edition.
The @acm.org has listened to feedback and is making changes to the Digital Library. Some things are still under discussion. But:
* Citation counts will be added to the Basic library
* Authors will be able to create a "authorizer"-style link to the complete list of their pubs

@floe @sigchi I have seen communities where "the prof is always in the author list" is established standard. I don't know how thie HCI community handles that, tho.

It looks like if you click the paper link (ACM DL) from the SIGCHI page, then it is open access. Let me know if that doesn't work for you! programs.sigchi.org/chi/2025/pro...

After returning from Costa Rica @acm-cscw.bsky.social i realized I'm totally affictionated about volcanoes. That SIGCHI conference in Latin America changed my perspective about the collaboration between Latam researchers. Maybe because we were 'at home' discussing part of our challenges 👏🏽
A series of volcanic eruptions has been ongoing in the Reykjanes Peninsula, near the town of Grindavík, Iceland, since 18 December 2023. The eruptions, of which there have been seven so far, began after an intense series of earthquakes in November 2023.

That @sigchi and ACM support non-TeX publishing is good for inclusiveness. Expanding that support from .doc to Docs is too.

It took figuring, but there *is* a way to get quality, accessible, multi-column, floating, compliant tables and captions in Google Docs. Will post.
