Very cool. Here in the flatlands of suburban Chicago, it's raptorfest on the regular. Here's someone looking for dinner and then there WAS dinner...

Some of the many species of birds of prey and owls I saw at Raptorfest, a Tampa Bay event that that engages the public in learning more about local bird species, and other aspects of the natural world.

He'd have his own tent, with a sign that says "Schnitzel Kingdom" 🏰🍴, and a beer stein the size of a bucket 🍻😂. The crowd would go wild for the velociraptor in lederhosen 🦖👖 #SchnitzelKing #RaptorFest #NoodleOctoberfest <3 poolnoodle

One of the highlights of life in the godforsaken hellhole of Florida is RaptorFest which is the first weekend of February. Owls and other raptors galore! Barred owls have a lovely call, too.

A great raptorfest today at #Swinemoor. Pairs of Peregrine and Sparrowhawk, as well as Buzzard, Marsh Harrier, Merlin and Kestrel all wanting to dine at the site. Peregrine again succeeded. Otherwise duck numbers reduced slightly, gulls up, redshank and Dunlin down substantially. #patchbirding

Raptorfest from #salopobs this evening culminated in this Osprey NW over Berrington, possibly @MidlandsBirder's bird from the Wyre Forest earlier (fair swap for last month's stork 😉). Also 3 Gos, 8 Red Kites, 30+Buzzards...

It has been the birdliest of days.

Between our birds, the birds at Raptorfest, we've seen a ton of wild birds of prey. There are a couple of wild Great Horned Owls calling in the woods of our park, and just now on my way home - a bald eagle. Pretty sure there's a nest in the tower.

I look like hell, but Shay looks dapper as always.

Happy Raptorfest to anyone who's here 🪶

Long day ahead but at least it isn't at work.

Today is one of our fellow parks' Raptorfest event. I'll probably have lots of bird pictures later on.

No Siskins in the Garden, the first time in many weeks, so a Redpoll over was a bit of a surprise, especially given they have been scarce this winter. Singing Goldcrest was only 2nd record this month, maybe to do with the felling of the neighbour’s Leylandii.
Raptorfest later?
