Carrying extra weight made me feel more feminine, more curvy, more likely to "pass." The problem is that I'd long outgrown the need for that, but I was still afraid to let it go. I love my body so much more now, even though it's less traditionally femme.

AFAIK, there isn't a direct connection between the Delta Center renovations and the Olympics. 2034 organizers were pretty set on reusing existing facilities with only small changes. For example, curling had outgrown its 2002 venue so they're using a temporary venue instead of a full renovation.
