In reality he did have a favourite amongst his flock, one that would surprise anyone who knew.

No candles were lit, but the early morning light had started to come in through the window, illuminating the figure lying curled up in bed.

Míngjué was asleep.

Dressed in what Huáisāng was sure were the clothes he had worn to the battlefield, guan and all, his brother slept soundly. He still had his boots on and the cape was wrapped around his body like a blanket. The younger brother was almost scared of waking him up, knowing how much his brother needed the rest.

Above all things, however, Míngjué needed care."
