More than 2,500 FIRs were registered and nearly 3,900 people arrested across Uttar Pradesh under the Mission Shakti 5.0 campaign, launched on the first day of Navratra by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, officials said on Saturday. The campaign aims to empower women by promoting self-reliance, social inclusion and security. Under the statewide drive, police intensified efforts to enhance women's safety and strengthen public trust, the Uttar Pradesh government said in a statement.

Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Gears Up for Shardiya Navratras 2025 In Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) is leaving no stone unturned for the upcoming Shardiya Navratras. On Saturday, CEO Sachin Kumar Vaishya led a key meeting with security agencies and local officials to review all preparations. The festival kicks off on September 22 and runs until October 1, 2025, promising a huge rush of devotees.

The famed Shri Mahamaya Bala Sundari Ashwin Navratra Fair — to be held at Trilokpur in Sirmaur district from September 22 to October 7 — is expected to draw devotees from across northern India. In this regard, preparations for the event were reviewed in a recently held meeting chaired by the Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner and the commissioner of the Trilokpur Temple Trust, Priyanka Verma. Nahan MLA Ajay Solanki was among the attendees of the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner said the temple trust was committed to providing every possible facility to the pilgrims visiting the fair.

The Chaitra Navratra fair began at the Mata Chintpurni temple in Una district with religious fervour today. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, who is also the Chairman of the Chintpurni Temple Trust, said the shrine area has been divided into four sectors, each under the control of a Sector Magistrate and a Sector Police Officer to maintain law and order. The DC said CCTV cameras have been installed at various locations to monitor the crowd and keep a tab on anti-social elements. He said emergency health facilities will be provided to the needy at the Chintpurni government hospital, adding that one additional health post each has been set up by the Health Department and Ayush Department near the shrine.

The Kangra district administration has made elaborate arrangements to manage the influx of pilgrims visiting religious shrines at Jwalamukhi, Kangra and Chamunda Devi during the Chaitra Navratra fair, set to begin later this month. According to official sources, helpline numbers have been made public for pilgrims’ assistance. Ambulance services with proper medical infrastructure will be available round the clock. A large number of police personnel have been deployed to ensure smooth operations. To prevent overcrowding, new parking lots have been developed 2-3 km from the temples. Entry into the temple complex will be regulated through slips issued by the administration.
