Time travel is a favorite subject of mine. HG Wells says it best. 💙📚🪐 #nationalscifiday

Carl Sagan is one of my all time favorite authors. He added a lot of emotion and humanity to a genre that can sometimes miss that. 💙📚🪐 #nationalscifiday

Some of our most recent sci-fi authors say the things we all wish we could say. 💙🪐📚 Ready Player One is such an excellent read! #nationalscifiday

We cannot celebrate science fiction 🪐💙📚without the mother of the genre, Mary Shelley. Written in 1816 and published in 1818, Frankenstein is considered one of the very first sci-fi novels. Never let it be forgotten that a woman birthed this genre. #nationalscifiday #womenruletheworld #birthofagenre

Science fiction looks forward, thinks forward, and usually predicts changes in society before most have considered them. Huxley thought far ahead of his time, and here we sit right where he thought we would be. 💙📚🪐 #nationalscifiday

Science fiction teaches us the hard lessons with the best teacher. Captain Picard helps remind all of us that sometimes our best won’t be enough, and that doesn’t make us weak. #nationalscifiday #startrek

Speaking of #NationalSciFiDay, I've not done my full 2024 reading round up, but I read some brilliant science fiction in the last year, so here are some I loved and would recommend! ✨🚀

The Warm Machine: A sci-fi novella about robot love
A brand new novella! When a laborbot first sees an angular, sleek prototype military robot slink onto his worksite, it's love at first sight.

Science fiction oftentimes highlights a hope in humanity that is hard to see otherwise. 🪐📚💙 The Martian is a recent example of how inspiring science fiction can be. #nationalscifiday

They’re both excellent. The audiobook is particularly good and adds to the experience of the story. The movie is definitely worth a watch, the book is definitely worth a read. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does it’s exciting! 💙📚 📽️ #nationalscifiday

Since Mary Shelley women have fought hard to be accepted in sci-fi spaces, but that didn’t stop us. 💙📚🪐 Mother of Dragons, Anne McCaffrey, didn’t mind forcing doors open when others wanted them closed. #nationalscifiday
