In the space of less than 15 months (17.03.42 - end of June 1943), 430,000 - 500,000 Jews are believed to have been killed at Bełżec. It was the third-deadliest extermination camp, after Treblinka & Auschwitz.

The fate of the Krakow Ghetto Jews:
- 2,000 were sent to Płaszów labor camp.
- Some 2,000 others were murdered in the ghetto.
- The remaining 3,000 were sent to Auschwitz.

On this day, 8th March, in 1945, Yakov Dikhter died. Yakov place of death is Latvia, but exact location is unknown. He came so close to seeing the end of WW2.
