Also eg Car Gustaf Armfelt and Carl Johan Adlercreutz were Finnish born generals in the Swedish imperial army. And famously Car Gustaf Mannerheim who led defense against Soviets in WW2 was a general in tsarist russian army.

Ultimately, the Finns were still the victims, but listening to Mannerheim instead of refusing the Soviet offer would have been the better choice. Luckily for them, the Soviet invasion was the most incompetent shitshow of the early 20th century

Mannerheim vevar mot allt och har inga slår ifrån sig när hon upprepade gånger har delat länkar från högerextrema/nynazistbloggar. Alltså, hon har haft en hel del vettiga ställningstaganden, men hon har också visat sig vara fullständigt omdömeslös.

Min morfar var tullare i Haparanda och hjälpte Finland under kriget. Han fick diplom och medalj av Mannerheim efter kriget. (En av flera tusen som fick det)

Minusta epäily on turhaa, Spöge on kautta historian ollut yksi yleisimpiä suomalaisia etunimiä ja muutenkin täysin legit. Jo Mannerheim oli S. G. E. Mannerheim ja Speden toinen nimi oli Spöge.

Fun Fact: During Operation Bagration, Hitler traveled to Finland on Mannerheim's birthday to beg him to launch an attack to slow down the Soviets.
Mannerheim told him that actually he was in the midst of negotiating a separate peace, to which Hitler said "Understandable, nevermind." and went home.
