Leonardo Secures Contract to Supply 12 M-346 Fighter Trainers to Austria
Aviation News – Leonardo has signed a contract to deliver 12 M-346 F Block 20 aircraft to the Austrian Air Force. The deal strengthens Austria’s airspace defence and modernizes military pilot training with a proven multirole platform. The contract was signed with the Italian Directorate of Aeronautical Armaments and Airworthiness on behalf of Austria’s Luftstreitkräfte. It covers not only the aircraft but also simulation systems for pilot and maintenance technician training, spare parts, equipment, and six years of logistical support following the delivery of the first aircraft, scheduled for 2028.

Great to see the Leonardo Aeronautics M346 in Canada! This is the only one on the continent at the moment, but there is much potential for Canada's FFLIT project, and for the US Navy. Canada, USA and 13 other countries are training on it at #IFTS in Italy.

Ah bah on divise direct le coup de l'heure de vol par 10, donc soudain...
Et le PC-21 remplace pas mal de trainers "jets" actuellement, ce qui permet aussi une interopérabilité avec d'autres armées alliées.
Mais le M346 a l'avantage d'une vitesse max plus élevée.

Autant ça peut vite rallier une zone, autant une fois sur zone, faut que ça fasse des passages où il parcourt rapidement de longues distances.
A choisir, un Light Trainer type M346 avec canon axial me parait plus adapté.
