recently, was told that the reason I can’t get a job is my dyed hair and piercings—that if I just looked “normal” I would be successful

I will not dissect myself and put my skin on display to appeal to others.

The first of eight prints in the “Conformity” series. It was made using blue, red, and metallic gold oil-based inks. Though there is gold present, the piece appears mostly reddish-pink, purple, and blue. It is shimmery upon contact with light. “Conformity” features a female wearing only a loose fabric cardigan, with their body being ripped in two vertically. Their ribs and guts are visible. The third of eight prints in the “Conformity” series. It was made using blue, red, and yellow oil-based inks. Unlike the first print in the series, the yellow is prominent in the mixing of colors here and adds dimension to the still primarily red- and blue-toned piece. “Conformity” features a female wearing only a loose fabric cardigan, with their body being ripped in two vertically. Their ribs and guts are visible. The fourth of eight prints in the “Conformity” series. It was made using dark grey, light grey, and metallic maroon oil-based inks. The piece is primarily maroon, with the shades of grey adding dimension to the imagery. It is shimmery upon contact with light. “Conformity” features a female wearing only a loose fabric cardigan, with their body being ripped in two vertically. Their ribs and guts are visible. The fifth of eight prints in the “Conformity” series, and Adrien’s personal favorite. It was made using blue, crimson, and metallic gold oil-based inks. Though there is gold and crimson present, the piece appears mostly blue, with the crimson and gold adding dimension to the piece. It is shimmery upon contact with light. “Conformity” features a female wearing only a loose fabric cardigan, with their body being ripped in two vertically. Their ribs and guts are visible.

aquatint, drypoint, and etching on a 6” x 9” recycled copper plate. working with the plate instead of making the plate work for me was an interesting challenge… will do again!
