I lived in SA for 15 years. I left in 2005. Back then, there were multiple LGBT bookstores, clubs, a community center, queer-owned businesses, a gay men’s chorus, you name it. It was a relatively safe and friendly place to be queer. It makes me incredibly sad to see the city taking steps backwards.

The immigrants enrich it greatly. It's always nice to see progressive areas, LGBT+ friendly spaces...black-owned businesses thriving, etc. Then you get sundown towns, you get the counties that are just retrograde cesspits dumb, poor whites have run into the ground and youth are desperate to leave.

Nothing. They care about optics when it benefits them. But when it comes to actually showing up for the people who made them rich and famous? Silence. It's been clear for a while, but I think a lot of people just don't want to admit it. These two aren't allies. They've chosen who they're comfortable around. It's sickening and the lack of people pulling them up on it and blindly praising them is frustrating.

There was a barbershop here in Atlanta that is specifically designed for black LGBT customers. However, the person who owned it passed away earlier this year. It was a big loss. But, the barbershop still exist with someone else operating it, I’m guessing his business partner.

Was looking at Target's website yesterday and I noticed their section for diversity now excludes "woman owned" and "LGBT owned" from the main menu.

Really proud to be part of a developer community that is still pro-player. No AI, generally selling full games without microtransactions, small privately-owned studios. So if people want to play romance visual novels for women and LGBT folks, there are lots of options!

When I was a radio news journalist I worked for the station in Salt Lake City owned by the Mormon church. I covered LGBT issues, stories about immigrants, animal welfare. All sorts of “leftist” stuff. And yes, even stories that were not flattering to the church… 1/2

Scott Rodriguez was an activist and leather community leader in Seattle. Rodriguez co-owned The Cuff bar where he raised funds for LGBT-friendly politicians and causes. He was a board member of Hand Off Washington and chair of Seattle Pride Festival.
[Scott Rodriguez gave us a reason to be proud by Matt Nagle and Bruce Amsbary. A pillar was knocked out from under Seattle' GLBT community last week when Cuff co-owner and community leader Scott Rodriguez passed away. Friends close to Scott told the SGN that his health status and cause of death are being withheld in respect to the wishes of his mother. To many in the Seattle GLBT community Scott was someone who operated in the background, barely noticed. But to many others, Scott was a visible and invaluable resource. From Hands Off Washington to the Northwest Gay Radio, the Pride Festival and the leather community, Scott was enthusiastic, inspiring, and tireless.
