#leptos
Wrote about migrating production services from Node to Rust.

Real numbers:
- 10k → 80k req/s
- P99: 300ms → 20ms
- Cost: -70%
- GC pauses: gone

Covers Actix, Axum, Rocket, Leptos from a JS/TS perspective. WebAssembly integration. Migration path.

Rust vs. JS/TS: The Performance Gap Is Closing — But Not How You Think
For years, the narrative was simple: JavaScript for speed of development, Rust for speed of execution. One was for shipping products, the…

For clarity, #money I don't have as I still haven't found #job. This #Leptos app is supposed to be a tool to manage job #applications. Potentially someone in #FediHire would be interested in one.

I gave #agentic #vibe coding a go today.🤔

Free Copilot models are useless, beyond repair...

Had chance to run GPT 5.2 Extended... once (burnt my free credits with one prompt). I got 70% of what I wanted in #Leptos, but it created doubtful code I need to understand. It needed good several […]

For approximately 2 years, I thought the CSS `light-dark()` function just wasn't implemented yet, because it failed when I tested it in all of my browsers.

The entire time, it was because lightningcss requires a call to `minify()` even when you are running in dev.

Wild.

Invalid usage of lightningcss in debug mode breaks variables referencing light-dark · Issue #622 · leptos-rs/cargo-leptos
Problem description As mentioned in this comment: parcel-bundler/lightningcss#935 (comment) And this fix: vercel/next.js#77313 StyleSheet::minify needs to be called every time prior to calling Styl...

Writing the render graph in #rust is an interesting problem from the linguistic point of view. Leptos tackles a similar problem. Its Views can be typed or type-erased, with tradeoffs for compiling and ergonomics. Expressing the graph is meanwhile all about ergonomics.

For me Leptos and Dioxus works fine ✌️

I created a simple FEP-ae97 web client:

https://codeberg.org/silverpill/fep-ae97-web-client

It is written in #rust using Leptos and APx. Everything is compiled to WebAssembly and the application can be served as a static website.

This technology stack is very promising, but I think it is not […]

Implementing a reactive grid layout with Leptos is way more complex than I imagined 😂.

I'll need to spend quite some time on collision detection and updating the layout. Can't wait to get this done.

Yes. Currently, I have no option other than React, despite mature Rust frameworks like Dioxus and Leptos. EVM wallet crate to integrate with rust framework is still not available.

I’ve gone similarly deep on Dioxus more than a year ago as one of the candidate technologies (along with Leptos, Svelte and Gleam) for the long awaited new frontend for Cuppings.

I can agree that even though it does not immediately spark joy, it is one of the best candidates for an end-to-end […]

Does Dioxus spark joy?
Note: this article is adapted from a presentation I gave at a Rust Paris Meetup — that’s why it sounds a little different than usual. Enjoy! Good evening! Tonight, I will attempt to answer the ques...

Coming from dynamic programming languages, I understand how difficult it can be to keep client and server aligned on API contracts for complex solutions.

By using #Rust on a full stack solution, you can easily share API types thanks to #WASM and a UI framework like #Leptos.

Trust me, it's a joy.

@sunshowers.io Whqt do you think of the Leptos approach? Unwrap it, but name it something else:

github.com/leptos-rs/le...

You could do this with many uses of unwrap, so I'm not sure why this one specifically needs reframing and others don't, but it does make me view the unwrap differently.
