A doctor I worked with in GA. We got a preauth for a lapchole. He ran into problems so had to open the patient up to get the gallbladder out. UHC denied claim. Ofgice called for explanation. They said doctor shld have closed up the patient & sent her home, then do another preauth for the procedure!

Ugh, no fun! And thank you. I think I spent longer in the emergency room trying to figure out if I had an infection in my incision than I was in the hospital the day of the lapchole. They shuffled me out as fast as they could from post-op lol

(for any who don’t know, lapchole is short for laparoscopic gall bladder removal and I can’t spell or pronounce the actual procedure term)

My sister and I just had discussion yesterday about reaction to anesthesia. After her lapchole she basically has no memories for about 36 hours. My lapchole surgery was at 10 & I distinctly remember coming to consciousness & checking the clock to see it was 12:20, & I was straight alert from then on
