I think it would be a bit more flexible from a design standpoint if I made the Mata, Metru, Ignika, Lhikan all Hyurs. I do see Sidorak as an Au Ra and Roodaka as an Elezen (sorry, but I might have to contribute to the evil Duskwight for her smh)

I see what you mean, and agree that it was underexplored! Especially bc, as powerful as the Ignika is, how good would it really be at replicating a being it never really met? I feel like there could be something there

Not really keen on the Dekar side (feels like having their cake and eating it by having him as an exact replica of Hydraxon, plus it's another plot-convenient power for the Ignika) but the idea of having your personality completely replaced is certainly something that could've been explored more
