Now that I had seen this actual video, that looks like it might be a bad connection somewhere between the screen and board >w< you might be able to check to see if Ifixit has some guides for your iPad, it may be a simple issue to reconnect something that has become slightly disconnected inside.

@stefano The reason Apple Stores will replace the top case is that the battery is glued to the top case in those models. If one of the batteries (it’s got more than one) is damaged why trying to separate them it could result in a thermal runaway.

lol, yeah they stopped being a simple fix a long time ago. It's not difficult though, probably took me half an hour on the MBA. ifixit is the place to go.

this build uses a 1 TB microSD card, enough space to hold full copies of Wikipedia, Stack Overflow, ArchWiki, iFixit Repair Guides, MDWiki Medical Encyclopedia, ready.gov, all TED videos, Khan Academy, Project Gutenberg, and Survivor Library as well as a downloadable Trail Sense apk for good measure

@lgsp @iFixit @right2repair I might have to go this route because Ubreakifix put me on a waiting list for the alleged free battery replacement and I never heard back. I usually have to charge 2-3x/day depending on usage, which is very annoying. There's literally nothing else wrong with this […]

Worst case, you’ve got a bad battery. Chances are, it will be fine after a charge cycle or recalibration though. You can replace the battery on your own if you absolutely have to. iFixIt sells the part and has a guide. Definitely not fucked.
